Armchair BEA Day 2 - Genre Fiction

Armchair BEA Question of the Day:  "What draws you to a specific genre?  Do vampires, zombies, or witches float your boat?  Or, do you prefer the heat of romance? Recommend your favorite genres and/or books and help build reader TBR shelves a bit more!"

I love YA, Sci-Fi, Paranormal/Urban Fantasy and will also read just about anything that catches my attention or has an interesting premise.

- I love YA because there are so many exciting stories in this genre and sometime you’re very surprised at where a story goes.  There are always a myriad of different characters and always something new.
- I adore Sci-Fi because well I grew up on Star Trek so stories set in space really intrigue me.  I think these stories are also great because they let you discover new worlds/think about new ideas.
- Paranormal/Urban Fantasy is one of my favorite genres because of the world building and imagining all the what-ifs of what you would do if you were thrown into the situations of the main character.

My Favorite Books so far this year are a pretty good mix:

My Favorite Series that I recommend to Everyone:

  1. I agree everyone should read Harry Potter!
I must admit that my curiosity on Seraphina is growing. I am not much of a dragon or other creatures reader but the cover looks great and I have read so many good things about it already.
    Thanks for sharing your favorites!

    1. Exactly, Harry Potter is just a really epic story. :)

Seraphina is definitely an intriguing read with a superb take on dragons. I really love the cover of the book too.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Harry Potter! I must admit that I didn't like Seraphina, but I hope to give it a second try. Based on all the reviews I've read, I think this was a case of "reading at the wrong time"

  4. The only Harry Potter book I had trouble getting through was Order of the Phoenix. The rest were devoured in a day or two. I had seen the cover for Invisibility, but hadn't checked out the summary. I just did and it is so up my alley. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Thanks for recommending.

Glad you're going to check out INVISIBILITY (here's hoping you love it), it's so good and has such unique duel perspectives/characters. Thanks for stopping by. :)

  7. Eleanor and Park!! I still have yet to read it and I'm scared it won't live up to the expectations. Harry Potter is always a favourite, haha. I have to go check out Invisibility, I have his other book, Every Day, which I haven't actually read yet.

    1. Hi, yeah just go into the book blind and see what you think. I think it has a really great flow and is a tremendous use of duel points of view. :)

INVISIBILITY is just so quotable and has a really intriguing story.
