Author Interview - Ninette Swann

Direct Contact by Ninette Swann

Tiny Reverse Vampire: What are you writing currently or percolating in your mind to write soon?

Ninette Swann: I have a piece I'm working on about a bounty hunter and a police officer that I hope to get out this coming fall. Should be fast-paced and fun!

Tiny Reverse Vampire: What inspired you to write this book?

Ninette Swann: I saw an open call for a New Reality series, and I'd never written in that genre before. To combine it with romance seemed ideal, and I really love the result.

Tiny Reverse Vampire: How did you come up with the idea for Direct Contact?
Ninette Swann: I was thinking about what kind of things might go on in a dystopian
world, how the government might act, and whether or not the previous
people's would have died out...or lived on.

Tiny Reverse Vampire:What has been the funnest character to write?

Ninette Swann: In Direct Contact? Julie, the heroine. She was meant to be a secondary character at first, but she had so much spit-fire, I had to change my whole plot to accommodate her.

Tiny Reverse Vampire: What word is your favorite to say or write?

Ninette Swann: My favorite word to write? Um, sporadically? Serendipitously? Some kind of adverb that begins with an s and sounds super smarmy.

Tiny Reverse Vampire:What’s your favorite quote from something you’ve written?

Ninette Swann: "Feminism needs a hero." But that's from a journalistic piece I'm working on right now.
