Armchair BEA Day 1 - Introductions

Newest picture taken yesterday of the baby birds that live on top of the light by my back door.  :)

Bibliognome Hulkified :)

Armchair BEA: Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?

Bibliognome: My name's Becky B.  I'm a Library Assistant at a community college and it's always an adventure with students of every age from high school to the older life long learners.  I've been blogging since August 16, 2010.  I got into blogging because I love books and after discovering/applying to review at other book blogs I thought why not just start my own blog, so that's just what I did.

Armchair BEA: Have you previously participated in Armchair BEA? What brought you back for another year? If you have not previously participated, what drew you to the event?

Bibliognome: I have indeed participated in Armchair BEA before.  I'm back again this year because it's a lot of fun and lets me discover new blogs/ideas.

Armchair BEA: What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2013?

Bibliognome: I have two favorite books I’ve read so far in 2013. Invisibility by Andrea Cremer and David Levithan and Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.  These books are very different but oh so quotable, you’ll definitely be thinking about these books long past the last page.

Armchair BEA: Which is your favorite post that you have written that you want everyone to read?

Bibliognome: I’m very proud of Story Time because it’s a story that is kept going by comments and it’s getting really interesting.  Here’s the most current link, http://bibliognome1.blogspot.com/2013/04/story-time_27.html

Armchair BEA: What literary location would you most like to visit? Why?

Bibliognome: I would love to visit the world of Harry Potter (if it was real of course) though I would settle for Harry Potter World the theme park too :).  This world of magic would just be so cool because it's such an immersive world.

  1. Just found your blog on the Armchair Bea linky list and I am glad I did. I love the birds. Though it must give a right mess it is cute to have baby birds growing up so close by. I have heard a lot of good stories about Eleanor & Park. Guess I have to read that one.
Have a great BEA from home!!

    1. It really is and because this is a small library we all get to help people and nobody is stuck with just one job/task all day. Yeah it really is an adventure because you never do know what people will ask.

      Thanks. :)

  5. Definitely agree about the world of Harry Potter!
I also LOVED Eleanor & Park. I'm not always one for love stories but that one was just so well done.

    1. Thanks, it's like they were just posing to have their picture taken the other day. Yeah it's one smart bird that is definitely staying out of the rain.

Happy Armchair BEA to you too, have a great week.

    1. You should check out INVISIBILITY, it's so good. E & P is indeed awesome.

Thanks, that mask is what happens when my sister and I are at Target and have too much time on our hands. :)

  10. Eleanor & Park was simply wonderful wasn't it? It's not my normal genre but I fell in love with it and I'm so glad that I read it :)

I'm hoping to take my kids to The Wizarding World of HP next winter. Crossing my fingers!

    Have a great ABEA!

    1. It was wonderful/not my usual genre either but I quickly became engrossed in the book.

Nice, hope you have fun if you get to go.

  11. Welcome back to Armchair BEA. I've heard such great things about Eleanor & Park. Glad to hear you agree. It's already on my TBR list, but I guess I need to move it closer to the top. Almost everyone I've seen who answered the question about literary location also chose Harry Potter/Hogwarts. It definitely seems like a given on the choice. A great world. Good luck with the rest of Armchair BEA.

  12. I feel like EVERYONE is talking about Eleanor & Park! It had kind of caught my eye anyway, since my daughter is named Eleanor, but I'm thinking I need to give in to the peer pressure since you all seem to praise it so highly. :)

  13. Eleanor and Park is one of the books that I currently have out from the library, and I'm eager to read it. I've got Invisibility on my TBR list, too; I loved David Levithan's Every Day and can't wait to check out more of his writing.

    Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Cool, hope you like the books they're both unique and have great stories. Yeah I loved Andrea Cremer's NIGHTSHADE series and David Levithan's writing from DASH AND LILY'S BOOK OF DARES (another great book.) when you get both their writing styles together it's very interesting. I should read EVERY DAY as soon as possible too. :)

  14. I live not so far from Orlando and still haven't been to the HP theme park. My daughter is so upset with me.

I would totally love to visit Hogwarts, though.
