Dynamite Demonglass

Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins
* I received this book via Different Area Codes tours
* This title will be released on March 01, 2011
* Some definite spoilers below if you haven't read Hex Hall.

This book gets a fabulous 5 out of 5 gnomes for having even more mystery then the first book and also for having quite the suspenseful ending.

Sophie's problems sure intensify in this book.  She now knows that she's a demon but that's not even the biggest problem she has in this suspenseful sequel to Hex Hall.

She leaves Hex Hall for the summer to go to England to get to know her father, the head of the council who's also a demon just like she is.  This is a great look into the demon side of Sophie's heritage because it's been impacting how she uses her powers, when she tries spells they tend to go overboard.

My favorite characters besides Sophie are Jenna and Cal.  The reader gets to learn more about Cal in this book and find out something very important about him.  Jenna goes with Sophie to England and seems to flourish there with more people being accepting of her.  Jenna also has some hard choices to make about her future.

I love that both Cal and Archer are well rounded guys and you can really see reasons for Sophie to like both of them.  It's always nice to see a believable relationship portrayed.  Archer is his same swoon worthy self and of course finds a way to be in Sophie's life in surprising ways.

Once again the humor in this book is great and will keep you laughing.  The laughter along with the mystery of wondering who you can trust and who exactly is turning more people into demons will keep you wondering.

Danger is all around and you really will be biting your nails/on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.  The bad guys are actually surprising and you're not really sure about the fate of multiple characters at the end of the book.  The ending is one that will leave you clambering for the third Hex Hall book.
