PROS:
You get your opinion out to the world.
You find other people from all over the world that like the same books or authors that you do.
Lets you get your feelings out if you're traumatized by some books and their endings.
Lets you have a sense of community with other book bloggers out there.
CONS:
Sometimes feeling like nobody reads what you write.
Easy to get sucked in by some of the drama out there.
Sometimes forget to have fun and not make the blog feel like work.
I also feel like no one actually reads my reviews and yes I also sometimes feel like blogging is more work than fun.
ReplyDeleteBut then, I just love it! I love talking about books, I love finding like minded people and in the end, I love it more than seeing the down sites:))
Yes I have some bad days where I think why did I stay up late writing this review... Then I get one good comment or an unexpected accept on NetGalley and feel a lot better. Yes that's why I'm in this crazy blogging world too I love books and talking about books and it's great finding people that adore the same books I do. :)

Simple and sweet again :).
I do relate a lot to those feelings!
Thanks I do like to keep things simple sometimes. :)
DeleteGood to know that you can relate too.
Traumatized by some endings...lol. Like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks :) There really were some traumatic endings this year especially the shall we say interesting choices made in the 3rd Divergent book...
DeletePerfect list -- both the pros and cons!
ReplyDeleteIt's rough when you think no one is reading your posts. All that work for nothing but...I also love just getting the thoughts out of my head. My poor husband can only listen to so much book talk lol
Thanks :) Yes sometimes it can feel like writing to a blank wall but I have to agree with you too because it is great getting the thoughts out of my head. Yeah my sister just looks at me like I'm insane sometimes when I try to describe some of the books I'm reading to her.
Deleteyes I totally agree with your pro's and cons list. it is so much work and very little payoff if no one reads it. Yes to book endings
ReplyDeleteThanks :) It was great being able to look closely at everything and make this list. Yes, I've found ranting on Twitter after some bad book endings can be very therapeutic. :)
DeleteI agree. Sometimes I spend a lot of time writing a review and then not one person comments. It can be disappointing. I still love to share though and since no one but myself is an avid reader in the adult portion of my household, I need a place to discuss my books. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks and thanks for stopping by. :) Yeah the no comments can get to me and then I go check my stats and see that at least if people aren't commenting they are still viewing it sometimes.
DeleteYes I agree with you there it's great to have a place to discuss books.

ReplyDeleteLast year it was so fun to talk to all my friends about Gone Girl. And when someone new discovers the book and finishes it, it's fun to go through that all again!
Nice :) That's a great way to think about it too you can always commiserate with someone and have fun discussing the ends of books whether they are horrible or awesome.
DeleteI love the community feel too. And it is tricky to let the blog remain fun and not seem like a job at times.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a great community. Thanks, I try my best to not have the blog feel like a job. :)
