My Favorite Quotes/Lines - The Professor Woos The Witch

The Professor Woos The Witch by Kristen Painter

“Bother.” Well, everyone had to die sometime, right? She grabbed the handle of the shed and yanked it open.”

“Did you just say bother? What are you, a Disney princess?”

“Do you plan everything?” “Yes. Don’t you?” “No. That’s not a very fun way to live your life.”

“Plus, it would be a pretty high coincidence that we’re both serial killers.”

“And she did, resulting in his door being slammed for a third time that day.”

“I’m sorry about that. I’ll work on being more likable. I swear.”

“So if he was going to be crazy, he was at least going to enjoy himself.”

“Apparently, it took a special kind of woman to accept another woman’s child.”

“Get your shoes on, young’un. They don’t serve the barefoot.”

“She was definitely hot for teacher.”

“With cake this amazing, who needs a man?”

“You and your stupid pretty face.”

“You’re adorable. Never change.”

“The last thing Cole needed was Puff the Magic MMA Fighter showing up at his door breathing fire.”

Review - The Professor Woos The Witch

The Professor Woos The Witch by Kristen Painter

4 gnomes out of 5 gnomes

I adore this series, it’s just so much fun. The characters, mythology, and town itself make for some really compelling reading. Plus this series is definitely great to read in October around Halloween.

I’ve always wanted to know more about Pandora and what her deal is. Her whole witchy family is a blast to read about. It was great seeing more of them and Pandora.

Cole is an interesting case, I really liked the mythology associated with him because it wasn’t where I thought the book was going to go. I like how this book showed him dealing with finding out that all this supernatural stuff is very much real.

The relationship in this one was well done too. I like that they took things slow and stop to really figure things out.

Having a teenager in the mix this time helped the story too. The kids of Nocturne Falls are some really interesting characters.

Things that were awesome:

Learning more about witches in Nocturne Falls
Characters
Relationships
Family Dynamics

I liked the twists and turns of it all and that final confrontation does come as a surprise. I’m looking forward to reading whatever is next in this series.

"Waiting On" Wednesday - The Bazaar of Bad Dreams: Stories

"Waiting On"  Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm waiting on...

The Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King

* Book will be released November 3, 2015

Check out the description from Goodreads:

"The next short story collection containing many of the previously published but hard-to-find short stories published since Just After Sunset."

I love King’s short stories and can’t wait to read this collection. I find his short stories actually scary and they’re one of the only books to give me bad/scary dreams.
