Goodbye to Meg - my dog whose picture inspired me to call the blog Bibliognome

Such a hard day today.  Had to say goodbye to Meg, she was an old girl but I've had her practically forever and she was more my dog then anyone else's (my Mom used to call her my shadow).  It was a really hard decision to make but she just wasn't well at all anymore and didn't want her to suffer.  So in her memory here are some pictures that show her personality pretty well.

  2. So so sorry to hear this Becky! It is so hard to lose a pet. Meg was a lucky dog to have known you - and it sounds like you were really looking out for her. So sorry for your loss!!

  4. *hugs* I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Becky. Meg sounds like she was a great friend and I really admire human friends who choose to ease the suffering of their animal friends instead of let them waste away. She made a really cute unicorn BTW. :)

  5. @Everybody, Thanks so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me. Meg was a very sweet girl and I know I'll miss her a lot. At least I have a lot of fun pictures (like the unicorn ones) and memories of her. I'll always have the picture up of her dressed like a gnome/Shrek too.

  6. Meg was more than a dog; she was also a unicorn, a gnome, and an ogre, too. :) I remember when we lost my dog--my best childhood friend--had to be put to sleep when I was 19. I dressed him up all the time when I was a kid. Still have those pictures, those memories, and I still miss him.

I have two small dogs and love them so dearly. Because I work from home, they are my constant companions. As a true dog lover, I can understand your pain. I am so glad that you and Meg found each other in this life and that you have known the love of a dog (and she has known the love of an owner like you.)

It may sound silly, but I'll be praying for you. I know how hard it is to lose a best friend, especially a furry one.

  7. @ArtsyBookishGal, Thanks so much your words really mean a lot. Yeah she really was a childhood friend because I had her for over 12 years and she did look pretty great in the dog costumes. :)
