Bibliognome - Armchair BEA Introduction

Bibliognome

Welcome to the first day of Armchair BEA and to Bibliognome.

Hi, my name's Becky B.  I started Bibliognome on August 16, 2010.  As my first post says,

"Why the name Bibliognome, well I like gnomes and I like books so I combined the two.  Since starting a full time job as a Library Assistant I've been reading a lot more.  I've always enjoyed reading but now I want to try my hand at reviewing.  Feel free to tell me what you like and tell me what you hate.  I'm always up for a good discussion."

I've always been a librarian at heart and was thrilled to find a full-time job at a community college library as a Library Assistant.  It's great when you can work around books everyday and teach/help people discover how essential libraries are.  Being in a library also led me to book blogging.  At first I just read a lot of reviews then after applying for a reviewer position on a blog I pretty much thought, why not start my own blog?  Now I love having my own blog and have had a great time learning as I go along and hopefully improving too.

I've always loved to read and having this blog has introduced me to so many books that I might have never picked up before.  Then when you throw in the aspect of Twitter, that's when things get really interesting.  It was great to discover authors on Twitter and be able to actually interact with them.  My favorite genres are YA, Urban and Paranormal Fantasy, Science Fiction and Fantasy.  I will review anything that I find interesting though so I'm pretty eclectic with what I read.
I decided to participate in Armchair BEA as much as possible because it looks like a lot of fun. I of course would have loved to go to BEA but my funds are rather low and I don't have a lot of vacation time.  So this looked like a great alternative to the real thing, I'm sure we'll have our own brand of fun.  :)

During Armchair BEA I hope to meet more book bloggers and discover more blogs out there.  I love talking about books so it's always great to find others that love books too.  This week will be full of cool stuff like giveaways, interviews, lots of surprises, learning new things and meeting some bloggers that I've never met before.

There are over 390 participants so make sure to go to the Armchair BEA site and check out all the cool people.  :)

Heres hoping you find something here to like at Bibliognome and you can always feel free to email me - geckyboz[at]gmail[dot]com or talk to me via Twitter @GeckyBoz.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to come back tomorrow for more Armchair BEA goodness.
